No, not me. This isn't a whine-ridden angst journal, its just referring to the state I've left this account in.

Well, that's not true. I've been posting the odd digital piece, but considering I'm primarily a traditional artiste, perhaps I should post some of my pencil stuff.
Its amazing the difference a few months will make - since leaving (sort of) TAFE I've actually started drawing seriously again - which is ironic, considering that when I was at TAFE and was supposed to be drawing for something like 4 - 6 hours a day you had to physically lift my fat arse away from the playstation, or pull out my shitty internet cable to keep me from wasting the entire day on 4chon.
Which no one did, least of all myself so none of my assignments ever got done until the last minute and as a result I underepresented myself rather severely in practically every way imaginable.

BUT

Since TAFE ended for me, art has taken a turn for the better. Its just a shame it took three years at TAFE (for which I still have to repeat various things to get my qualifications) for me to realise what direction I should be taking with what I do, and one of my lecturers quite nearly had to hit me over the head with a thick sheaf of pencil sketches that I'd done over the year to make me realise that pencil sketches are what I'm good at, so perhaps I should stick with that instead of getting angry at photoshop and feeling like giving art up because I'm a stubborn git.

tl;dr: arting is fun again

This is turning out to be a venting/ cathartic journal. Joy of joys.

In specific regards to art (because all my legions of fans will, of course, be dying to know) I'm going to try and get back to something my mates Mike and ~Goldilolz helped me with - I wanted to try and do a big, big (as in lengthy and time consuming) anthropomorphism series.

No, not furry. Anthropomorphism. Basically, my friends and I came up with a whole lot of different things and themes - ranging from the seasons 'á la Mucha' to fruit, veg and funny cars - and I then planned to go through and draw women as a personification of each. The idea being that I would be practicing both my anatomical skills, and interaction drawing which is something I remember my other illo' lecturer telling me I should do more of, rather than static, single figure drawings.
Needless to say (which I've always thought was a stupid phrase - why say it if it's needless to say it? People shit me, myself more so than others. Bah)
I didn't end up doing it. But then, I 'started' it before that imaginary little period of time where, as my wonderful memory recalls, I wasn't able to draw people for shit and then BAM Loomis just kicked in, yo. So who knows, I might actually be able to pull it off.

ENOUGH RAMBLINGS

I might as well give this journal a point - that being your ideas - I wants them.
Give me ideas for things to draw in specific, themes, people, scenery, characters, hell. I might even take sketch requests.

The thing I've learnt about myself is I work best when I have a multitude of ideas and plans for drawings flowing all around me - then I can sort of pluck one at random to work on at any given moment. Left to my own devices with only one or two projects, I get bored easily and things start to stagnate.

So, if anyone reads this and manages to make it past all the WALLOFTEXT without stagnating themselves, help plz. Even if its just to suggest something for my anthropomorphism project (although it'd have to be a pretty far out idea, considering we wrote down all the really obvious ones)

Oh, and I bought a NintendoDSi today. Gonna get me some pokemans tomorrow.

Hahaha... I just got royally reamed on /ic/. I knew there was a reason I go there. That 'deity of darkness' piece I've being working on so earnestly... oh god. I don't even want to look at it anymore.

I'll admit, it has aspects I like that I want to keep, but as of 5 minutes ago its scrapped. I'm going to redo it completely. As in, no "lol imma just draw it all straight into photoshop lol'

God no. Full character design, thumbnails and layout design, composition, the whole deal. I swear to Loomis I'm going to to finish this properly. Whether its finished in time for the competition or not, I don't care. I might pump out some shitty little pop art style angel vs. devil, but this is my new personal project. And fuck me if I'm not going to do it.
